diy baby's breath - opinions please

I thought my taste in cheap flowers would be good for my budget, until a florist quoted me $500+ for baby's breath and daisies!  I decided to try and tackle it myself.  Please give your honest feedback; I stil have 4 months to go and plenty of time to practice!  The first pic is a boutonniere, the second is a bridesmaid bouquet:

Is there a way of taking the pictures with you holding the bouquet and pinning the bout to some fabric?  It's hard to tell what they look like.

I think jagore08's recommendation would help, it's hard to determine size against an inanimate object

Baby's breath is really cheap. I used it in my arrangements and with the pew cones at the chapel.

You don't mention the style of your wedding. Is it casual and laid back/country/rustic, or formal? The bouquet looks a bit sparse, but again hard to tell. I think you probably want to practice with it a bit and get it into a more rounded shape, if that makes sense. Starting with what you already have, I'd probably add some to the sides, graduating the length of the stem to a shorter length, to get a more rounded and fuller shape.

Above is not the only place that sells them, I've seen them at other craft stores. It helps to pre-determine the shape.

You don't mention where you purchased your baby's breath. I got mine from Costco, it's $79 for 100 stems, which is a LOT. Link here http://tiny.cc/y0p26

Okay, part of the problem here is you are not in the industry and they see you coming.  I am not either, but taking classes.  Baby's breath is gyp in the floral world.  So when you ask about prices, call it that.

If you are a creative person and not afraid to DIY, go for it!  My only suggestion would be to clump more of them together for the bouquets.  It's cheap stuff, and the fuller bunches look fantastic.  They make great centerpieces too!  What about a non-floral bout.  A colorful pocket swatch underneath to give it some dimmension??  I made wreaths with them for a friend's Photography Studio Opening and they were a big hit!!
