When to Buy Flowers?

We are buying our own flowers (at a grocery store, I mean), as opposed to getting a florist. Do we buy the flowers on the day of the wedding, or the day before? Would they go bad or rot if we bought them the day before?

My wholesale flower provider in town told me to have them delivered the Wednesday before our wedding so that we can put them together the Thursday before the Saturday wedding.

We are doing ours the day before!  You have to be sure they'll have the flowers you want, so ask or have them ordered
