uses for hurricane vase?

We inherited 11 hurricane vases from a friend to use as centerpieces at our wedding.  I've looked through lots of pictures online to see ideas of how to use them, but haven't really seen anything I like so far.  The florist included a picture on our concept page that had a large candle inside, and then lots of flowers/greens around the base (kind of like a wreath).  I did NOT like that and would prefer something cleaner and simpler.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Wedding is in October.

I found a few pictures for you that are a bit more modern/unique. I don't like the greenery wreath thing around the base, either. Hopefully these will at least give you some inspiration.

I have 10 large (24" high) hurricane vases that I will be placing on the beautiful wood floor along the aisle.  Just going to use large candle with colored (deep gold) glass beads in them.  Will transfer to tables for reception afterward with smaller votives/candles and scattered fresh flowers (no wreath, just random flowers)
