Hydrangea Centerpieces

I want to use blue hydrangeas for my reception table centerpieces.  In your opinions, what size and shape of vase would be best for this kind of flower?  We're having mostly round tables that fit 8 people each.  TIA!

I did, jagore, but I was wondering what most people would recommend for vases as far as height and shape.

Because hydrangeas are so wonderfully "fluffy" & full, i LOVE the look of them in densely packed clusters/low arrangements.

I had round tables & did low square vases; I think it looks rather nice, not staying with circles-beacuse-table-is-circular.


Ideas I'd go wtih, personally, givng an idea of size of vase (I think 6x6 cubes?

I totally agree with the prior poster on the size of the vase. Needs to be low, round or sqare. You can put ribbons or vellum with printed or stamped designs on the square vase, but wouldn't work on the round one.

Hydrangeas are so versatile, I really think you can choose any type of vase/height and they will look lovely.  Its really all about what you prefer.

Here is a small hydrangea centerpiece that is low and in a square vase (it would be cute to have 3 small hydrangea arrangements in the center of each table, with the vases varying slightly in height):

I used hydrangeas (and roses and lillies) and mine were 6" cubes.

Thanks, ladies, your suggestions were very helpful!  I've been leaning toward 5" square vases, and after seeing some of your examples and others on the web, I think I may go with that.
