Flowers

What are these called?

Hello,

I think these bouquets are so pretty. I want to know what the brown furry looking things are but have no clue. I'm not even sure if they are flowers. Does anyone know? http://www.stylemepretty.com/gallery/photo/1623

They are very different. I am a florist and you have me stumped. They look a little bit like bullet allium which could be a good alternative if you cant find these. Sometimes in the summer, floral wholesalers can get in all kinds of unique locally grown things. This may just be a random one of these. The may also be the center of a flower with the petals plucked off, like a black eyed susan. Hope you can find them!!

They look like button mums (possibly dyed or painted) or the center of a larger mum with the petals removed. HTH!

Thanks Janice. I just did a google search for "button mums" and they do look like that plant. I also tried to do a search for "brown button mums" but didn't find much so perhaps you're right about the dyeing. I will have to ask a florist when I start looking for one next year.

    Thanks for your help!

Thanks Midge. I just did a google search on that and it looks like it could be it as well. Really appreciate the help ladies. I'll ask the florist about both of the plants.

    Thanks

because there are tulips in the bokay I tend to think that this maybe drumstick allium and the photograph makes them look browm when they are really a dark plum color. anyway that's my guess

Flower diva, I was thinking they do look a little purple but wasn't sure. I don't know how you ladies know the names of all these things I've never heard of but thanks a bunch!
