Help!! Bouquet/centerpiece

Alright, I don't know where to start. I have this rustic themed wedding vision in my head. It sounds wonderful, but I can't quite find bouquets or centerpieces to match my idea. My wedding colors that I want are chocolate brown, plum, and taupe. I want t have a combination of birch trees vases with flowers in them as well as mason jars to make up the centerpieces. I am starting to think that my ideas are completely off the wall, because I can't find the perfect bouquet or centerpiece. They all have aspects I like, but some things I want to tweak...Can anyone HELP me with ideas? :)

  • Tweak away! I had the same issues of not finding exactly what I wanted in lots of areas, so I made them myself. :)
If you are doing them yourself, you can mix and match all the elements you like to get the exact look. Maybe do a practice run with some faux flowers to see how it looks?
If you are having a florist, you can definately tell them what you do/don't like about your inspiration pics, and explain the overall look you are going for. They'll be able to come up with something you like.
Remember, not all of your centerpieces have to be exactly the same, as long as they go together. I think you'd be fine with alternateing several different centerpieces, depending on how many tables you have. I think we have 4 variations of centerpieces for 16 tables.
Your theme is super cute, btw! Ours is a little rustic, but with more of a vintage feel, kind of like an outdoor antique fair.

  • I think it sounds lovely.  Maybe play with it or mock up a table to see how it will all cooordinate.
  • When I looked at your inspiration pictures, I see a lot of baby's breath. One had pussywillows, some have snapdragons, and more formal flowers like roses, peonies, carnations.

Baby's breath is very airy, and I have seen it a lot in pictures these days. It takes up a lot of space, and you can keep the cost down by inserting a few other flowers you like. I also like the pussy willow branches, but they bloom in spring, not August. You may have to use silk, but I've seen them as fakes that looked real. They are also here:

It really isn't necessary to have all the centerpieces match, nor have your bouquets match the centerpieces. Personally I like eclectic, especially in a rustic decor. Lavendar is also plentiful and inexpensive, and blooms various times from spring to fall.

I agree with the recommendation above to get some silk flowers to play with in your mason jars or wooden vases/holders. Go to a craft store with multiple silk flowers and play around with them to see the sizes you want and floral choices.

You could also go to a field a day or two before your wedding and find Queen Ann's Lace, other actual wild flowers.

    Good luck.
