Planted Center Pieces

Hello,
Have any of you seen live centerpeices at a wedding? I was thinking about doing live plants, for centerpeices, and bulbs for gifts. Any feed back/advice?

I've seen potted orchid plants as centerpieces and they were very pretty.  We didn't use potted plants as centerpieces at our wedding, but did rent tall potted palm plants from our florist to decorate the end of the wedding aisle (renting them was very cheap - about $5 per plant).

I like this idea. You can always keep them and use the plants or give them to your family members. They will last longer than cut flowers. You can do just one type of plant or several types of flowers in a pot.

It's a great idea, and much less wasteful.

Potted seasonal flowers like mums or daisies are plentiful in the Fall, and can be planted afterwards.  You can even buy them days or weeks in advance if you have a place for them.  Or you can buy fall bedding flowers and plant them in decorative pots.

Where are you keeping your plants ahead of time?

I have two big fears with using potted plants:
    1) bugs
    2) dead flowers - i would wnt someone to trim up as close to the ceremony as possible!
