Flowers To Go With Dresses

http://www.alfredangelo.com/collections/styles/7141

This is the dress for the girls and the color will be in Marine blue. I'm having a hard time finding blue flowers or even flowers I like in blue. I'm going with silk or fake flowers. I was just wondering if yellow would be a good color to pair with this color of blue.

Thank you in advance!

Yellow is always a great accent to blue.  If you match the flowers too closely to the dresses, they will fade.  Possibly cream/white and yellow with gray accents to pick up on the blue.  Lamb's ear or dusty miller are great gray folliages!

I agree with pp. I think that it would be better to go with a non-matching color that will pop against it rather than having it match the fabric.

There are just not many blue flowers found in nature, so if you go with silk/artificial blue flowers, they will look super fake.

If you put blue flowers against blue dresses, they won't show up well.  I think a complimentary or contrasting color will add more interest, look more natural, and more elegant.

If  you'll check out a color wheel, preferably one with a description of how to use different color combinations, it can be really helpful.  The compliment to blues are typically yellows and oranges (directly across the color wheel).

But there are other nice color combinations too, such as various shades of greens and blues, or the red/purple/blue combinations.

I am having my gals in marine (excellent choice) & I plan on using red flowers (hoping tulips) but yellow would be beautiful too!!
