Flower Advice

Wedding is June 30, 2012 (ceremony is outdoors). My colors are Royal Blue and yellow. BMs will be wearing Royal Blue short dresses, and I'd love for them to carry yellow calla lilies (with some green foliage at the base), with the MOH's bouquet having some white calla lilies mixed in with hers.

I have absolutely no idea what I want for my bouquet. I love orchids, but they may be too expensive. I'd probably incorporate calla lilies to tie my bouquet in with the BMs, but other than that I have no idea what flowers I want. Does anyone have any suggestions? No roses, but I wouldn't mind flowers that look like roses. Here's a picture of my dress for reference.

Edit: I know that I'd like white, blue, green foliage and maybe a hint of yellow in my bouquet. I just don't know what flowers to use.

I feel, "white, blue, hint of yellow, green foliage, calla lilies, no roses" is enough to bring your florist and hear her suggestions.

Also, check out the bouquet gallery here. There's hundreds!

I know, there are sooooo many possibilities! Hopefully the florist can give me ideas. I really do wish I could have bright blue orchids, but I have a feeling they'll be out of my budget. What I'm doing for my centerpieces, though, is getting a vase for a pillar candle, then order preserved blue and yellow orchids ($11 for 30 of them) to either put in the vase with the candle or scatter them around the candle. So, I'll at least have orchids somewhere!

They are really pretty! They'd give my bouquet what a rose would give, without being a rose. They're definitely tops on my "rose-like" flowers, along with ranunculous.

I find it funny that I know exactly what I'd like for everything that has to do with the wedding, except for this.

Out of curiousity, what's the deal with "no roses"?  I could understand if you didn't like the looks of them, but you've already said something that looks like roses would be acceptable.  Are you allergic?

how about this.. light blue hydrangea, peonies with yellow centers and freesia...you could use yellow freesia in your bouquet and for the Bouts... what a pretty color pallette.

Also be very leary of the bright blue orchid thing.  They are dyed and if they ruined your gown it would be a real mess. Such a nice dress by the way.. Beautiful!

The no roses is just because they're so common in bouquets. I want something a little different. I do love the looks of them, though, hence why I don't mind something that looks like them.

That is really pretty. I might go for a darker blue, though, because it'd match my blue color better (royal blue). You have a point there about the dyed orchids. I suppose if I got them I'd get white ones and have different flowers be blue...

I have appointments with two florists at the end of the month. I'm going to get all my ideas and pictures togther and send them an e-mail with them in it so that they have an idea of what I'm looking for before I get there. I can't wait to see what they come up with!

Also, thanks! It was on clearance for $99 and in my size :)

I agree, let your florist show their creative side and give you suggestions.  There is a white and yellow orchid that is fantastic, can't remember the name but your florist will know.
