DIY Flowers

I'm only using flowers for my parties bouquet and my fiances boutenniere and I'm making those. All the other flowers for the wedding are going to be loose. I have no real use for a florist.  Would you recommend getting the lose flowers from a florist though or are there good online companies I can order from and actually trust they'll get here in good condition and on time?  Please give me your input and suggetions if you can! Also if you know of a good place to get peacock feather from that would be helpful too.

If I only needed a few dozen flowers, I'd get them from my regular flower stand, which is usually less expensive than even the grocery store and has better quality than the florist's shop my future husband used until now. (He brought flowers from that shop the evening he proposed. They wilted in 2 days and didn't open fully. I told him to find some place else. No point in paying a floral shop premium when a grocery store or flower stand is cheaper and higher quality.)
    But there's also these people:

random question but I can't find it online. How thick are large calla lily stems? I'm trying to figure out how many I want in my bouquet.

The ones that grew wild in my backyard growing up were between dime-size and nickel-size in their stems.

I found some decently priced flowers on weddingflowersofamerica.com. Has anyone ever used them?

Never heard of them. Strange that they have stargazer lilies in November (my planned wedding date) but only 4 or 5 colors of roses.

I bought mine from Sam's Club (online) and they came in great condition....I dont know how prices compare, but they arrived on time and perfect! Ours came on Thursday for our Saturday wedding so that gave the flowers enough time to open just the right amount! I would recommend them!

Just had a chance to look at Sam's CLub. They have excellent prices and all the reviews are great. i wish they had more than just white Callas though. With that price though I have no prob ordering my white lilies from them and my others from somewhwere else. I still need Lg yellow callas and mini black callas.

The one thing I will say about Sam's Club is that the selection changes. I had been looking online for weeks determining what type of flowers I wanted and then the day I went to order them they no longer had serveral of the types of flowers that I wanted. I figured out different flowers (type or color) and it still worked out great! I love my flowers! A lot.
