Boutonnieres and Corsages

My fiance and I are having a small wedding in order to cut down on overall cost. While I was planning my flowers, someone said I needed to have father of the bride/groom boutonnieres and mother of the bride/groom corsages.

Is this really necessary?

Can you have a wedding without them?  Yes, but traditionally the bride's and groom's parents receive flowers.  It's a special day for them, too.
  • I don't think its necessary at all, especially in a small wedding, everyone should know each other & if not then ppl will figure out who the mother/father of the bride & groom are. If you still want them you could always make them corsages/bouts- pinterest has a ton of paper & fabric flower DIY tutorials....

  • At least get them a flower.

  • IMO, giving flowers to parents and grandparents isn't just because it's what is traditionally done, it is more of loving gesture then anything.

Yes, you can still get married without them having bouts and corsages but I personally wouldn't skip it.  Anyway, bouts and corsages are pretty inexpensive and cutting them out won't really save you that much in the long run.
