Do I need to purchase a boutenire for the pastor performing the ceremony?

    That is completely up to you.  A bout is the cheapest flower for weddings, so what's another $5.  Some do, some don't.

    If you are doing ANY boutonierres, yes it is customary to include the minister/officiant.

    Unless the officiant won't be wearing a suit, and will instead be wearing vestments (robes).  In that case, it would not be appropriate to wear a bout with the religious vestments.

    You should ask what his regular attire is for performing a wedding.  Mine actually asked what I would like (color options) at our meeting so he coordinated with the wedding.  Every officiant is different.  If he's wearing his vestments (as pp stated), then he shouldn't have a boutonniere.
