Peonies in mid-April

Hello everyone! I'm getting married April 14th of next year, and needless to say I LOVE peonies. However, I was doing a bit of reading and it looks like they're only available May-end of June. Is this true? Is it at all possible to get them in mid-April? I wouldn't need any crazy colors - just white and pale pink. I'm going to start talking to florists next month, but I just didn't want to get my heart set on peonies if they're not going to be available. Thanks!

You can probably get them in April, but you'll pay a lot more for them and they won't be as pretty as when they are in season. Have you looked at garden roses? They have a similar look and tend to be more readily available.

I'm getting married April 29th and also LOVE peonies.  It depends on your florist and where you are getting married.  I'm in Virginia and I first visited the venue that we've decided on around the same time that we plan to get married next year, and their garden was bursting with peonies in full bloom.  Check with your florist...mine didn't mention any problems that they might have getting tehm.

It depends on your source and whether it's local or online.

My peony bushes are busting out right now, and I've been picking them daily for the past week. However, as norman74 mentions, they are "in season" in Virginia in April, but not northern climates.

I'd check all the online sources you can find for prices right now........ and expect to pay a bit more in April of next year.

You can also get a quote from a florist near you.

    Good luck.
