Let me start by saying THANK YOU!  I've been hunting around for a DJ, and based on the reviews that you ladies put up, I decided to contact Melody and Memories... and I am so impressed.  She was so awesome to talk to and she just raved about both of your weddings (I told her that I found her through the forums recommendations).  She is going to send me over a contract, but I think that I'm sold!

2.  Don't feel creepy... the "been there" insight helps so much! Otherwise, all the vendor look the same!

What was her fee? It's still a long ways off but I like to book my vendors early.

It's hourly--I want to say for 4 hours we were quoted $900, but she gave me a discount for being a knottie

I also got some kind of advanced booking discount (or a knottie discount or something).  It was $850 for a 4 hour reception, the sound amplification for the ceremony (mics for readers and officiant), and 6 can uplights.

She quoted me $600 for four hours on a Friday night

I SOOOO wish I could afford it because I have heard AMAZING things from her and she was so helpful and nice even after I told her I couldnt afford it, she asked if she could help me find another DJ...so sweet!

I was quoted 800 for a Sunday night... hmm... I may have to negotiate!

well, most vendors prices do increase a little bit each year, but perhaps for a Sunday night you could negotiate it down a bit.

I called her too and I'm now trying to convince FI that we need to us them.  I loved her when I talked to her on the phone.  I'm pencil-ed in right now and will work on FI this weekend!  Thanks for the awesome recommendations ladies!!!
