Wedding Flower Bouquets

Hi Ladies,
I am getting married in October and am having a fall themed wedding.  I am planning to use sunflowers and gerber daisies as my main bouquet flowers.  I went to a florist last night and the cost was $938 for her to do everything I wanted.

My girlfriend volunteered to make all of my bouquets I just need to figure out if this is the path I should take.  As anyone ordered flowers in bulk before?  HELP...I am starting to stress about this!!

Thanks!!
Becky

I am not sure what all the 938 covered, but if that covers all your bouquets, centerpieces, etc. that sounds really reasonable.  It might make your life easier to just go with a professional.

ditto... not sure how much you are getting but anything under a grand is probably a good deal anyway...

by the way.. gerber daisies are tricky because they wilt easily if not handled right and sunflowers have tilted heads and thick hard stems so your girlfriend might not know what she is getting into...

is your friend a florist?  if so she should be able to handle it but if not I would stick with the professional.  Putting together bouquets, centerpieces, bouts, etc takes a lot of time and know how.  Like the PP said, if $938 covers everything then I would go with that florist...price is very reasonable.

I would look on afloral.com for silk flowers if you're interested in it. Also, you can google bulk flowers and probably find a lot of sources. I understand that 900 dollars is a lot to be spending on flowers (thats more than i'm spending on my venue!)

The price from the professional included all my girls bouquets (there are 5), Bride bouquet, 6 boutonniere's, flowers for Mom's (2), Grandmom's (2), Dad (1), Godfather (1), 1 flower girl and 3 ushers.

I think it is a good price I just don't have anything to compare it to.  I am definitely going to stick with a professional :)  Less stress for me!!

BJ's, SAM's club and all the big places like that sell bulk flowers. I would try going online or looking in one of there stores to see the flowers.   I am ordering 75% of my flowers from BJ's and doing most things my self but I am letting the pros do the boutonniere's.
