breakaway bouquets

Has anyone done a breakaway bouquet? I saw it when I talked to my florist and at first I realy didn't want to do the bouquet toss. But I really like the idea of having several bouquets. Does anyone know how it works? Can I just do a bouquet toss without doing the whole garter? Do you just ask the single ladies to the dance floor? Or do you call all the ladies up? Thanks

I used to work at a florist and we would do this a lot. Basically the florist will make up several small bouquets (probably made up of only a few stems of flowers). For delivery she will wrap a ribbon around all the bouquets to hold them all together. Right before you throw the bouquet undo the ribbon so that when you toss it all the smaller bouquets will fly off in different directions.

As for your other questions...
1) It is perfectly fine to do just a bouquet toss without the garter toss. I have seen it done many times.

2) For the bouquet toss, traditionally it is only for single (unwed) ladies. For me, I didn't do a bouquet toss because I didn't have very many single girlfriends and the ones that were single I felt bad for pointing them out.
