Flowers

no-flower centerpieces/bouquets

I'm not much of a flower person. When my fiance and I first started dating I told him never to buy me flowers because i just don't care for them. Now that we're planning a wedding, I feel like I'm in a bind. I don't want to buy a bunch of flowers that i don't even care for, does anyone have any other DIY ideas for centerpieces/bouquets?

Instead of bouquets you can do fans or parasols for the ladies. Most people who aren't doing flowers do candle centerpieces.

Check my bio. We did non-floral everything. I bought a few mums to line one side of the aisle with, but that was it. GL!

I'm doing lanterns in a tray of river rocks. I didn't want floral centrepieces either as I thought the flowers would just go to waste. There are lots of thing you can do with candles or filling vases with other items such as fruits, sand, candy, ribbons...
    Good luck!

Thank you so much! Most of the buttons belonged to my grandmother, so they are special to me and my girls. :)

All the above posters have great suggestions. You could carry something that is meaningful to you and your groom (special book, rolled sheet music with a favorite song, etc). You could do centerpieces of vases filled with stalks of bamboo -- each guest could take a stalk home with them as a favor.
