so many rude florists...long

Has anyone else encountered rude florists? I am in shock at how rude the two florists i spoke to were. The first one acted like I was such a bother when I went in the shop to set up a consultation. She refused to set up a consultation and kept rolling her eyes at me because my MOH (only person in the wedding party) hadn't actually bought the dress yet. I just wanted to make an appointment- by then she would have bought the dress we chose.
The second place told me to call them after Mothers Day to set up a consultation and all last week I've been calling. They tell me oh no one is in yet call later, I call later the florist doesn't work today call tomorrow. I call the next day and she isn't in, I mean I find this ridiculous. Today I called and they put me on hold for a very long time then this woman gets on the line and is very rude. Of course the florist isn't in today so I said "Can't I just make the appointment? I've been calling all week." She replies in a snotty tone, "Yes and I've been telling you all week what days and when to call etc etc" I am so mad at how she spoke to me. Obviously I wont be doing business with them. Do you think I should call the manager and complain?

I think just rude vendors in general.  It's almost like they don't want your business.

As for calling and telling the manager I might just to say why they won't be getting my business.  But, think of how hard it'll be to actually get ahold of a manager.  You could write a letter.

Don't give up.  You will find someone who is nice and someone you will feel comfortable working with.

Yea I am young, I have noticed everyone treats you differently when you're young from restauants to stores...I am getting married at my parents house. I made an appointment to see a third florist so hope fully she isn't crazy as well.

I have ran into a few rude florists. One I had tell me to contact her after Valentines day to set up a meeting with and after 2 weeks of calling and Emailing her I gave up. To this day I haven't heard back from her.

That is why i decided to DIY. I just can't see handing out over $600 or more to someone who will treat me like crap and not take me seriouly.

Plus I have found that I can do it for less them half the price they are charging.

I was going to supply  the florist with all the vases and Ribbion for the Pomdar balls. and they didn't need to set up as this would already be taken care of by the Staff at the Venue. With all that I was still surprised at the cost.

I'm from a small town in PA and I decided long ago that I wasnt dealing with the florists down town. My senior year in high school they butchered my order and over charged me. Even after that my mum dealt with the same place for my sisters wedding and the messed all that up too. So most of the things for my wedding are DIY and its cheaper and it will give the girls something to keep too.
