Flowers

Silk or Fresh? I cant decide!

I'm getting ready for a December wedding. I dont know what flowers will be in season or how much it would be to have out of season flowers. I've considered having fake flowers but I cant decide! Can someone give me some input on which flowers are in season during that time or a cost comparison for fresh and silk flowers? PLEEEEASE!!!

I am struggling with the same issue. I see alot of posts for www.wedideas.com and www.afloral.com but haven't put in any orders yet. I am getting married on a cruise ship July 25th and they don't let you bring on real flowers. You have to use their florists and you get the bouquets on the ship that day. Having silk flowers ahead of time would really ease my mind. Anyone who can help that would be great.

I also see that there is a difference between regular silk and Natural or Real Touch flowers??? I guess for the best result I am going to go with the Natural/Real Touch.

I love my silk bouquets that I ordered from Bridesbouquet Check out the post down a ways.  I posted pictures in the post. They were very reasonable.  I couldn't see spending so much on real flowers, that would end up on a table for most of the night.

I think you should do a little research on the costs of flowers you might want and compare it to the costs of silk flowers.  If it's cheaper to go silk then go for it! :) If you use silk, then you can pre make things like your bouquets and centerpieces, which could make for some fun projects! :)

I decided to make my centerpieces with silk flowers and my bouquets with natural ones. It's been a lot of fun to make the centerpieces, and they are ready 3 months ahead, which is awesome to me. And I can do a lot more with the same budget.

Check out some of the online floral companies. It doesn't matter when you get married (December, January, February) they offer all kinds of amazing flowers regardless of the season at amazing prices. Bunches Direct is one of the newer ones but it's gotten good reviews and their customer service agents seem really eager to please. www.bunchesdirect.com

silk is tacky and never looks as good but you clearly already know that or you wouldnt be asking, if they were the same it would be obvious which to pick but nothing is as nice as real flowers

Good silk flowers are going to cost you just as much, if not more, than the real ones.
