Fresh flower for girls, Fake flowers for boys?

So I plan on doing fresh flowers for my bouquet and for my ladies.  But my man has flower allergies.  He has never been overwhelmed by flowers at a wedding --- but have an arragement in our house gets him sneezing.  SO I was thinking having a flower attached to his chest would probably not work out so well.........I was just thinking perhaps I'd buy a fake flower boutineer from an etsy seller ... then so that the guys all match, I guess all the guys would have either paper or material boutineers.

Is it a problem for girls to be one way and guys to be another?

I don't see an issue with it at all. I'd think you'd probably want to have them be a similar color and flower in relation to what you have in the bouquet. It might also be easier if you chose something that isn't hard to match like white. For example if your bouquets have white roses, the guys can wear a single white rose bout.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing...I don't see a problem with it.  And most likely nobody will even notice except for you.  The reason I'm doing it though is because it's one less thing off our plate...we can have it done in advance and it's done and out of the way...plus you don't have to worry about them dying. Another reason is because our family owns a florist, and I'll be involved with making our flowers, so it's just one less thing to worry about.  Long story short, I don't see anything wrong with it!

I think that is the best possible decision.  Your wedding is such a big day and you want him to enjoy it and not be feeling miserable over something so small as a boutonniere.  What kind of color scheme are you doing?  Here are some examples of silk boutonnieres that are ALLERGY FREE

As you can see there are many different styles.  If you cant find one you think will match your flowers just ask an etsy seller to custom make it for you.

I agree with most of other replies. Fake flowers for wedding is perfectly fine!
