Wedding arbor decorations

Hello. I am doing the flowers for my neice's wedding on the beach. Does anyone have suggestions on how to make  a floral decoration for the top of the bamboo arbor? Any suggestions on a container to use etc? Thanks! Gail in Athens

Did you want real flowers or silk? That would make a difference.

She wants real flowers - sunflowers, some greens, and a blue flower to be chosen later. I am thinking of trying to wrap oasis and use that as the base. I am still trying to figure out how to attach it.

You need to wrap the oasis in chicken wire to keep it from falling apart. Then use zip-ties that you can find in a hardware store to secure it from the chicken wire to the bamboo.

Thanks for the great tip about the chicken wire and the zip ties. I have used zip ties in my costume business for securing various costumes pieces; I never made the jump to floral decorations!

you can buy "floral cages" that hold an Oasis block at a floral supply store or order them on-line they have holes on either side to attach wire to fasten them to the arbor. That may be easier than the chicken wire that may scratch up your arbor.
