From your bio, I see that your wedding is NYE of 2011, catholic, and in Jamaica.

You have plenty of time in the next year and a half to plan your wedding and research flowers.  You might start by collecting pictures of bouquets and wedding party flowers that you like.  But more information is needed to give any advice, like are you doing flowers yourself, or hiring a florist?  Will you also need altar flowers, and centerpieces for the reception?

For a Catholic church wedding, you may need some altar flowers, but they are probably optional.  I am Episcopal, which is similar to Catholic, and we have a flower guild.  Members make a small donation to the church, and volunteers make up the altar flower arrangements.  But they have been blessed, and are dedicated to God, so it's required that they be fresh flowers, and stay on the altar after the wedding.  If your church has a "flower lady", she might be a good source of advice.

You mostly need to worry about the wedding party flowers:  your bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets, buttonieres, and maybe corsages.  If you are on a tight budget, you will save money by keeping the wedding party small, and bouquets/flowers simple, using whatever flowers are less expensive and abundant for the time of year.  You can save even more my using simple candles or bud vases on the reception tables instead of large arrangements.

If you do the flowers yourself, it will of course save you a ton of money, but is time consuming and stressful if you have a lot of other last minute things to do also.  You need a little practice at making bouquets, and will need to know what flowers are available that time of year.  If you will be hiring a florist, give them your budget/price range, what flowers you need, and ask for their recommendations.
