what to use to preserve bouquet

Hi, I want to preserve my bouqet, and a friend say I should use hairspray.  I never heard of this has anyone else tried this method, if not what method have worked for you.

I actually just read an article on here about preserving them:

I don't know if I'll do it, but if I do it will probably be the freeze-dried method.  I'm not sure how to find someone to do it, guess I'd better get to Googling!

  I separated and hung mine upside down to dry out.  They were discolored a bit and I spray painted them burgundy then with clear.  Arranged them in a shadow box frame purchased at Michael's with the feathers and crystals that were in with my flowers.  It turned out absolutely beautiful.
