I had heard that one of the prisons in my area had a greenhouse and did floral arrangements for cheap.  After digging around online, I found the number to call so I could get an appt.  I had to fill out a consent to search form and then met with an inmate who does all the wedding arrangements!  The greenhouse is part of a vocational rehab program that gives the inmates skills and a trade to use when they are released from prison.  He was very professional and had great ideas. It felt like meeting with any other florist.  I just got my quote back this morning and my bouquet is only going to cost $50.  Only drawback is somebody will have to go pick up the flowers the morning of the wedding since they don't deliver.

I used to work in a prison, and not all of them do this kind of thing.  The one I worked in DOES do the vocational rehab program, and they do also have a greenhouse (and gardens in the summer) but they grow vegetables that get taken to the local nursing homes when they are harvested, rather than flowers.  It's really going to depend on the state and the prison, because even in my state, I don't think all of the prisons have gardens/greenhouses, either. 

Good idea though, and glad to hear that you're getting such a great deal on your flowers!
