Flowers

Help! I have a black thumb!

I'm sending out an SOS...I kill plants, I mean, I look at a plant and it dies.  So needless to say, I'm clueless when it comes to flowers.  I'm going to look at florists next weekend, and I don't want to get taken because I'm clueless.

Can anyone give me a crash course in wedding floral??

Ask what flowers will be in season at the time of your wedding.  Do you have a budget for flowers?  Ask them to give you an idea that is under your budget, at your budget, and just slightly over so you can see what you could get.  Do you have a theme or look you're going for (mine was set in a victorian home so we went with classic)?  That will help guide you in a direction.

I am also a black thumb when it comes to flowers.

Is there a particular flower you like?  Roses, carnations, hydrangeas, daises?  That will also help when you go to a florist.

If you want some ideas of floral wedding bouquets in some standard flowers, check out bridesign.com.  They are a mail order bouquet site and carry some of the most popular wedding flowers.  This should give you some ideas.

Thanks to both of you...I forgot I posted this :/  Oops!

I'll definitely check out the website.

We have a fall wedding and we're definitely using colors inspired by the season.  That's a great tip for asking just below, at, and just above my budget, definitely going to ask that!!
