i know its common for flower girls to carry a kissing ball, but would it be appropriate if I had my BMs carry them? I love the look of them.

    Not weird; there's no requirement that BMs carry traditional bouqets. Your BMs can carry whatever you want them to. I was recently at a wedding where they carried lanterns.
