Boutonnieres vs corsages

Hi,

I know the traditional thing to do is boutonnieres for men and corsages for women. Is it OK to do boutonnieres for women as well? My mother would not having something on her wrist...

Thanks!

Jessica

If you just ask your florist to make the mothers corsages with a pinning option (which most of them do) then it shouldn't be a problem.

    FYI

a corsage has a bow/ribbon-and is worn by a woman
A bout has no ribbon and is worn by a man

corsage is a corsage where ever the lady wears it

Yes, actually I prefer smaller, simpler corsages about the size of a bout. They are easier and lighter weight, the larger corsages always flop over and can mess up dressy clothes.

I think orchid corsages are very pretty, very lightweight, and easy to pin on.

Have you asked your mother if she wants the "pin" kind?  My mother didn't want anything on her wrist, but she also didn't want to pin a hole into her dress.  Some mothers choose to carry a little bouquet (a nosegay?) or a single bloom.  My mother opted to forgo flowers altogether.
