Flowers

Help with flowers......

My wedding planning is going very smoothly, but I'm so clueless about the flowers!!!  If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

My girls are wearing black, strapless, knee length dresses and the wedding is in September.  I'm thinking of carrying a white rose bouquet and I'm thinking of having the girls cary puple Hydrangia bouquets.  Is it okay to for me to carry different flowers than them??  Do you think this sounds good????????

It isn't abnormal for the bride to carry different flowers than the BMs.  If you're really worried about the flowers not looking nice together, you could always mix some purple hydrangias in with your bouquet.

I'm a florist and I agree with LindsayMaree.  i think it would be really pretty to incorporate a little purple hyndrangea in your bouquet.  Your groom could wear a white rose and the groomsmen could wear purple hyndrangea to match your attendants.  The only thing to think about is hydrangea doesn't last long out of water... they get droopy fast.

    Thank you!!!

Do you think it would be a better idea to have the BMs carry roses in bright colors and I will still carry the white rose bouquet?

Ugh....as you can see I'm all over the place with this!!!

It really doesn't matter as much as you are giving it thought. In other words, do what you want.

I peeked at your bio, and your colors appear to be black & grey (or silver?) All white flowers for everyone would be fine. So would white for you, with colors for them.

If you want, try to coordinate this with your centerpieces so your floral selection is consistent. It may be cheaper to align all the floral colors.

    Good luck.

Bright colors would definately pop off of the black!  You can do ANYTHING with black dresses!  And I think for the time of year that you are getting married, bright colors would be perfect!

    smarshall81: you reek of vendor!

All others:  take a swatch of fabric from the bm & wedding dresses & see what looks good.  My local grocery stores have 3 for $10 bouquets that I have been using to try out different comobs - both types of flowers & colors.  HTH
