Flowers

Corsages and Bouts

Does anyone ever see small size corsages, one rosebud with fern and baby's breath as opposed to multifloral ones? More like the men would wear, I guess. We're thinking of recognizing immediate family, as well as friends helping with the wedding by getting them corsages and bouts, but large corsages for all mothers, sisters and grown daughters would get pretty pricey. We're having a midafternoon simple wedding/reception combined and a dessert bar.

Re: Corsages and Bouts

  • Are you asking if they are common or did you just want to see a picture of it?

I understand the desire to recognize certain people with flowers but it might be important to know their preference if they'd like to even wear one or not. For example, my mother didn't really want to wear a wrist corsage because she finds them uncomfortable and didn't want to wear one all night. Instead we gave the mothers a very small bouquet of about 3 roses to carry down the aisle with them.

You could try to find other ways to recognize these special extra people by mentioning them in your wedding ceremony program if you are having them. Or think of other ways that would also be cheaper than buying them all flowers.
