How many stems??

Does anyone have any approx. size or suggestions for what would be appropriate for a very simple wedding bouquet?  I am using only calla lilies with feathers as accents.  I do not want the flowers to overwhelm me or take away from my amazing dress, but I also don't want them to get lost!  Any ideas on how many? What about bridesmaids?

I would go over to Michaels and grab some stems, bunch them together how you'd like it to look, count them, and put them back. I think that many brides have about 24 flowers in hand tied bouquets.

My bouquet will be made with 18 mini calla lillies. It sounded like a lot to me (I'm very petite and don't want a huge bouquet), but my florist assured me that 12 would be very small. For a medium to larger framer person, she usually recommends 24-36 stems. If you're using full size calla lillies, you probably need less stems. If I were you, I would just call up a couple florists and ask the question. If they want you to go in for a consultation, it's OK to do so and not order through them.
