Flowers

buying flowers online????

Im looking for anyway to save money on the wedding and I though about buying flowers online in bulk and making the arrangements on our own, and was wondering if anyone else has done that and if so where you happy with the results, and where did you buy them?

I plan on buying my flowers from Costco. I ordered my Mom 100 various roses for her birthday last month for $89. They were stunning, and lasted at least a week.
According to the shipping timetable I used to track them, they were sent from Ecuador on Jan 18th, she got them on the 21st, so they were very fresh.

You have to follow the directions that come with the flowers. Go to www.costco.com, click on "floral" at the top. You can order wedding packages that have bouquets/bouts/corsages and centerpieces or in bulk. They have a variety of flower choices, as well as colors. The packages have a video that show you how they arrive, and how to care for them. I'd recommend ordering them to arrive a day or 2 before your wedding, they need time to acclimate and open.

Other websites are Sams Club, fiftyflowers.com, growersbox.com. They all have many testimonials.

    Good luck.

I bought my centerpieces from fiftyflowers.com and they were excellent.    The arrangements come banded together, so all you need to do is trim the edges and keep them in water.

I ordered bulk roses from a local florist and bought some filler flowers at a high end grocery store.   My mom and I made my bouquet, 2 BM bouquets and the bouts in about 3 hours.

    It's work, but totally doable.

http://theflowerexchange.com i used this website for flowers when doing centerpieces for an anniversary party.

also, my sister used flowers from costco for her wedding and made her own centerpieces.  we made them 2 days before the wedding and kept them in our screened in porch to keep them cold and viable (it was march). i would suggest putting them in the fridge when done if you are getting married in a warm time of the year.

i wouldn't suggest making your own bouquets because i think that's hard!! but do a trial run and see how long it takes to make each one and the cost of each one too.

    good luck!
