Real or fake?? =/

I cannot decide on real or fake flowers! I'm afraid they will look too cheap. But i'm not a big flower person. I'd rather spend money elsewhere... I'm having a peacock themed wedding. Colors are Grape (darker shade of purple) and bronze (the bronze color inside the peacock flower) I also DO NOT know my flowers & I don't want a traditional ....rose. =) HELP pleaseSealed

    I would rather see something else besides fake flowers.  To me fake flowers look fake, unless you purchase real touch flowers but then you'll spend more money than if you purchased fresh flowers.  I googled peacock wedding centerpieces and this is what I found.

    I'm not a fan of fake flowers in centerpieces. They look really cheap to me and  you can buy real ones for less money. I really like pp's suggestions with the feathers-- it is absolutely perfect for your theme.

    some think like this adapted to suit your colour scheme :)

    Agreed on fake flowers for centerpieces not looking great.  I am using fake flowers for the bouquets but I was willing to spend more so they look really great.  For the centerpieces, I am buying real flowers.  I love the PPs pics of the feather centerpieces.  Very pretty.

    I also like the fan idea for you instead of a traditional bouquet.  I found a pic here: http://www.squidoo.com/peacock-feather-bouquets.

    my MIL tried to convince me to include fake flowers but i didn't like the way they looked. i mean it's personal. if you like them or can find nice ones then go for it. but it sounds like you don't want to use them. i like the peacock feather theme. you don't have to use flowers at all if you don't want to. maybe instead of a bouquet hold a peacock feather fan. for your centerpieces you can use candelabras instead of flower centerpieces.

    For me, fake flowers just weren't an option...but for some people they are what work the best. 
    I think with your theme/colors, you could also use this kind of idea for your "bouquet" and your BM "bouquets"! 
    FYI...I was in Claire's the other day looking at jewelery and they had quite a bit of peacock stuff...jewelery and hair pieces, etc.  You might want to take a look and watch for their sales!

    I really looked into silk flowers.  There are some out there that look really nice and real.   I would have gone that route without exploring other options if not for the fact I am ironocally allergic to the better quality silk flowers.  So when I started looking at real flowers I found the real flowers were about the same price as the better quaility silk.  To me only the better quality silk was the only way to go.   So if your motivitation is to save money it is not worth it.

    I went with silk flowers, but I went through a website and got the specialty and real touch flowers. They turned out great. They actaully cost me less than real would have.

    Go with real flowers.  The world is too artificial already.  Nothing can beat the scent of a fresh flower.  If you want some real deals, call Bunches Direct.  Bunches Bob
