Sola shell flowers

Anyone know what happens to sola shell flowers when they get wet? Thinking about putting them in a vase with water for a centerpiece. Bad idea..?

Re: Sola shell flowers

  • I purchased sola flowers for my floral wreaths. I haven't put them in water, but I'd suggest getting a small package and doing a mock up of what you want to do to see if they hold up. They are held together in the back by string wrapped tightly around the base, I don't think there is any glue.

    Good luck.
  • they are sometimes referred to as balsa wood flowers as well and they are permeable.  As long as they are not dyed with coloring, you should be fine!
