Centerpiece question

Would it be odd if there weren't centerpieces on the table?  Would you even notice?

I would find it odd. Even at a more casual wedding I would think the table was missing something.

You don't need a lot. What about a small Dollar Tree vase/container for $1 with 1 or 2 stems of flowers? They don't even have to be fancy flowers. Maybe you could cut a few stems from your flowering yard plants depending on your season.
A simple pillar candle or two? Floating candle in glass container?

You can get most of this at Dollar Tree, Hobby Lobby, Michael's. Dollar General. etc. If looking for something specific www.wholesalefloral.com is good on price and selection.

I think people expect a centerpiece but it doesn't have to be elaborate. You don't need $100 flower arrangements. Some candle arrangements may be less expensive or some simple live flowers in a nice vase.

I've thought about doing candles but my reception is at 1pm so it will still be light out.   My venue has great natural light so it wouldn't have that romantic candlelight glow I love.
I am concerned about the cost and have been checking out the various craft/discount stores in my area.

Suz, if my wedding wasn't in November I would totally cannibalize my flower beds (and then bring everything home and replant it).

Here is one thought I had.  My FI and I met when I fell on a rose push and yelled out.  He came over to see what happened and we started talking.  Would it be cute if we put one of those mini rose bushes on each table with a little note that said "how it all started"?

haha- I was thinking mums and pansies are out that time of year; however after reading your post about the rose bush I think that is the best idea. That is inexpensive and relates to you as a couple. Perfect!
