Johny and June??

So my fiance and I are huge Johny Cash fans. In fact, our first date was to see Walk the Line, so from the day we got engaged I knew that I wanted our wedding to reflect that. I am totally non-traditional and I had an idea that I wanted to walk down the aisle to "Johny and June" by Heidi Newfeild. But, when I told my future mother-in-law and my fiance's aunt about it, the literally laughed out loud. What do you think about it??

Do you remember the movie? They had a pretty brutal and messed-up relationship and that was after he treated his first wife like crap, so I can understand your future in-law's initial reactions. This isn't a couple I'd want my guests to think my my fiance and I emulated, but if you like it, go for it.

Actually, I am well aware that. I read "I Walked the Line" by Vivian Cash (his first wife) just a few weeks ago. They also had a very passionate relationship, I cried through the whole book. Regardless of his relationship of his first wife, Johny and June had a love that was considered legendary. Which is what I'm focusing on with my theme, and my future in-laws don't know alot of the details regarding Johny Cash's personal life, they were laughing because they are very traditional.

OH my GOSH!  That song is SO awesome!!  Johnny and June had a rocky beginning, but their love was so true and wonderful.  They were truly in love until the very end.  What an awesome awesome song...I think I will be having that in my wedding somehow now too.  Go for it!!!!
