Wedding Ceremony & Reception Music Discussions

XP: Non Church Ceremony-Recessional Question

Our ceremony is at same location as reception. A friend is performing the processional music, guitar acoustics.  However, we'd prefer a little something more upbeat/faster for the processional.

I have never been to a wedding not at a church, so all my fellow bride friends n family didn't have to think about this, they just had the typical church music. So I'm not quite sure how to go about it. I'm thinking ipod. I'm sure some of you have done this/will do this, so how are you going about it? Will you just have someone press play? A bridal party member, or other random person? Thanks :-)

Your situation sounds similar to mine.  We are getting married at our reception venue, and my cousin is playing acoustic guitar and singing for the ceremony.  We also want to have an upbeat recessional, so we thought about what he might be able to play.  If your friend can play something upbeat for you, that might be fun.  If you do decide to go the iPod route, I would probably designate someone in the wedding party to press play.
