I'm just full of entertainment crap today.

I'm going to be watching a lot more Nickelodeon (<- link) now.  This made me think of our Salute Your Shorts discussion quiet some time ago.

It took my awhile to realize you weren't calling yourselves short (as in height), Kathleen.  I couldn't figure out what height had to do with lunch.

I don't know this girl, so could be. But there are a lot of different personal reasons for changing one's first name. For instance, I know there are a lot of people who change their names in the process of recovering from trauma, particularly childhood trauma inflicted by someone who gave the person that name.

My dad also had his first name legally changed to his middle name after my parents got divorced. I think it was partly a symbol for starting over, but I think he also did not want to have the same name as his dad (who he was named after) anymore, as he did not have a good relationship with his dad.

At any rate, people have all sorts of reasons for changing their names that are really none of our business. I think it's confusing when someone you know well changes his/her name, but since it doesn't really hurt to respect their decision I feel like you might as well. I think people have a right to decide how they want to be identified by others.

That would be so awesome...if they were going to show Doug too. I'd be all about that...except maybe doug was disney? I don't really know...

Yea..my manager went on a camping trip, which they didn't even know where they were going and she had to have spent 30 min-1 hr on the phone with her freaking kids "pack your bras, and your shoes...what? well, where is that bag at? " and things of the such. I'm just super annoyed right now...and hungry. I just want to go make me some leftover steak for lunch...Oh YUM! That will surely make my day improve.

This is more like a confession and an AW but whatev...it's slow.

My old boss is taking next week off (which I have not been told about from her,it's just rumored) and while that's a vacation in and of itself if I were to be here because she won't, I'm taking off specific days so she has to find someone else to do her job since I caught SO much hell last time by doing it.  She was also ticked that I didn't ask her for permission to take off; I had a few words prepared if she went any further than she did but 1 point to me for telling her that my boss approved it and she didn't miss anything.  I made my husband happy.  Our lovely student assistant made a mistake and I'm keeping my mouth shut because I won't be here to deal with it.

I'm also tired of being ignored when I say "Hi", "Bye", "Have a good weekend" etc. so I'm just no longer saying anything to certain people.

Same here with the grandparents/cable thing. My cousin and I made it a point to watch Hey Dude & Wild and Crazy Kids every day we were over there.

I know it's against the rules to post about contest you're in, but I read one and it was all people having a cat fight over a woman posting a contest. Why do people get so offensive over this? I know you're supposed to read the rules but hey not everyone does. These women really were going at it over what the word ignorance means. So I posted back, they needed to look at themselves and see what they were arguing about. All they had to say at the begining of the post was "hey we don't do that here" end of story, but people just went on and on.

The funny thing is, asking for votes isn't against the rules.  Spamming the boards is.

Unfortunately, the the international boards, they're a little bit more... curt?  It's kinda one of those "can't handle the heat, stay outta the kitchen" things.  If you're going to post something there, prepare for ALL different types of feedback... especially not so nice stuff.

    I flame Verizon FIOS installers.

I made an appointment for 5-7 pm tonight.  You called me earlier and left me a message asking me if I wanted to move up my appointment to earlier in the day... I did not call you back because I'm working and the TV and computer are in my car.

Then you call just now to let me know your on my way to my house.   Um, dude, I don't know what you think your going to install without a TV or a computer.

Apparently an appointment means nothing to them.   Oh well, they can wait.

<div>I had so many issues with them and appointments.  I made it for a certain time frame (just like you), get an email confirmation with a wrong time frame so I call them again and they "change it in their system".  Day of the move, the guy was calling me to say he was on his way, 4 hours earlier then the time frame!</div>

Brianna -   Mark is there working right now so he can get in.   There is just no TV and no computer.   We had an appointment and I told Mark not to let him leave until I get there with them.

It says the install takes up to 4 hours so hopefully there is other stuff the guy can do until I get there in about 2 hours.

Lauren - Yeah, it's frustrating.   I think the installers just don't want to work that late, honestly.

I'm reading FFF on my phone in the car as I'm driving back from corpus Christi with my dad so I had it zoomed in to where I could only read the post itself but couldnt see the user name. Before I finished reading your first paragraph, without even seeing your name anywhere, I knew it was you. You're becoming predictable with your never ending need to always disagree and list multiple reasons why something is none of our business. It's getting annoying. Most of us know that what we talk about is frivolous or none of our business, we don't need you reminding us 24/7.

That's fair. I just thought that insisting on calling the girl by her old name when messaging her was a bit insensitive.

ETA: Also, assuming that she's just doing it for attention. That's crappy.

I was taking care of my Grandmother all day yesterday, so I didn't get a chance to FLAME!  and I REALLY REALLY WANT TO FLAME!  So I'm doing it!
    here goes!

    Texas Tech Law... Rejected (OUCH!)
I really wanted to be a part of that Alumni network.  I love their law program. Their journals and focus' were exactly what I was looking for. I love their bar passage rate (Highest in the state!). I love the location, perfect for focusing on my studies.  I love the "value"  This was the place to get a law degree for less than $50,000.

But no, I'm not good enough for them! :(  And I don't even know why :(  My numbers were fine, my letters were great, my statements were enlightening.  But I guess when it comes down to it... nothing was good enough :(
    I cried.

But this morning, I woke up feeling better about things.
