Wedding Ceremony & Reception Music Discussions

Family Dance

FI and I have a son who will be 2years old at our wedding. I am planning on doing a "family dance" during the reception. But, am not sure of a good song to use. I thought about him joining us at the end of our 1st dance, but would be ok too if the DJ played the song in the middle of the reception or whenever, just as long as DS is up and still awake! I was thinking we could even do it to one of DS favorite songs at the time. I am open to anything really, I just wanted to set aside one song for the 3 of us to be together. Any ideas?! TIA!!!

    Hi Landon15,

I'm thinking of doing the same thing with our daughter who will be 2 when we tie the knot...  "You Make Me Smile" by Uncle Kracker is a top consideration, I always think of our daughter when I hear it... and for something fun and campy "3 Is a Magic Number" from the old "Schoolhouse Rock" show was covered by Blind Melon 10-15 years ago and is another I"ve considered. Good luck to you :)

I am planning on doing the same thing with our 3 year old.

We were going to do the Barney song "I love you, you love me..." b/c it's short.  but, he's outgrown Barney...

So, we're letting him chose whatever he wants to dance to.  Currently his choice is "Like a G6" -- haha, maybe not the most appropriate, but he says it is his favorite song and "it is what a ring bear will like to dance to at a weddin'" - how could I say no??
