Wedding Ceremony & Reception Music Discussions

All Love Songs??

My band doesn't show up until 6 and the ceremony is at 4, so I'm using my iPod to play the ceremony song and then for the reception afterwards. Would it be too much to have all the songs for the reception be love songs or other songs like Carrie Underwood's "Mama's Song"? Should I mix it up, or don't worry about it?

You could do all love songs as long as the beat varies. Don't do all slow songs or all fast songs. But I don't think you should worry about them all being love songs I would just stay away from sad songs or break up songs.

For the ceremony, I think it would be okay to have all love songs.  For the other part, I would maybe use some love songs and then mix in some of your other favorite songs that you may want to hear, but aren't really dancing material, or that your band won't be able to cover.  We are doing this during dinner - some are love songs, others are just upbeat acoustic songs that we love.
