Wedding Ceremony & Reception Music Discussions

Anyone using an organist for their ceremony?

My wedding will be at my home church, and the organist has offered to play at basically no cost...but I don't really like the sound of the organ...is anyone else using a organ player or what are my alternatives?

I've considered it, we have several church members who play it fairly fluently.  I'm with you though, although it's quite the impressive instrument that takes great skill and technique, I'm not really a fan of the sound.  Piano is always a nice alternative (and those who play organ usually play piano as well), but i'm not sure what we'll be doing yet.

I'm using the organist at my church. Its the cheapest option for us. I dont really mind. I doubt when ppl look back at my wedding they will remember the ceremony music.

I'm getting married in my church, and one of our close family friends is an organist.  He'ls playing the organ.  I'm also having someone play the flute during the prelude.  I'm excited for the music.  I haven't decided on any music yet.
