Prelude help! DIYing it

Our ceremony is being held at the reception hall so we have to bring a CD of our own ceremony music...  And I can't for the life of me figure out what to do about the prelude music.  We're not into the traditional churchy wedding music...  Do I make a mix of some of our favorite low-key contemporary music, or do I pick a modernized version of a classic that covers the 10-15 minutes we need?

Currently leaning towards the following for the rest of the music:
BP processional = acoustic version Canon in D
My processional = Ingrid Michaelson "The Way I Am"
Recessional = Jason Mraz "Lucky" or Bruno Mars "Just the Way You Are" or maybe even Iyaz "Replay"...not quite sure yet...

Any suggestions would be helpful, TYIA ladies!!!

You can do either one - low-key contemporary or modern classics.  I'd suggest that since most of your ceremony music is contemporary, I'd stick with low-key contemporary stuff.  Ballads, soft music by current artists.

But in the end, it's totally up to you.  You can mix it up and have some of each. Realistically if it's background music while people are coming in and sitting down, they won't be paying TOO much attention to it anyways.

I am doing the same thing. I'm just making a playlist of  contemporary love type songs...

Here is what I'm thinking for the actual ceremony

Brides maid processional - don't know yet
Me - soul sister by Train
Licence signing - Signed, Sealed, delevered yt Stevie Wonder
Recessional - Another one Bites the Dust  by Queen (LOL)

But I'm on this forum to get some ideas for songs too!

Honestly, look into movie scores/soundtracks.  They are BEAUTIFUL and can have a really nice feel.
