Songs for fist dance and w/ my father?? (african american)

THis is another stressor!  I have no idea what to tell the DJ to play.  I like At Last but that not my generation.  I like Luther V but everyone dances to that and it makes me cry everytime.  I was thinking Misuq Soulchild, etc. 
Any thoughts???

    Just a thought but my dad and I were going to dance to Stevie Wonder - Isn't she lovely.   I'd cry the whole time if a song wasn't upbeat enough...and Stevie wrote the song for his daugher.  Pretty fitting for a father/daughter dance I think!

    Paul Simon of Simon&Garfunkel has a great song called "Father & Daughter".  It's got a good beat for dancing too and is sweet and upbeat.
