Mother/Son song suggestions please....

Im having a difficult time trying to find an appropriate song to dance with my godmother to. My mother passed away 6 years ago, and I am trying to find a song with lyrics that speak less about the perfect man I have bedome, but more about how it really is.... even though you're not here, you are still in my heart. Any suggestions would really help. Thanks.

Mike

  • Not quite sure what your style of music is, but Song For Mama by Boyz 2 Men is one that I thought of right away.
Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton
You'll Be in My Heart - Phil Collins

Sorry I'm not much help. That's all I could think of.

"You'll Be In My Heart" immediately comes to mind. PP mentioned it, it's sung by Phil Collins, was in the animated film "Tarzan". Here's a YouTube link: click

Another suggestion is Faith Hill's "There You'll Be". Here's a YouTube link: click

There's also a Rodgers & Hammerstein song from the musical Carousel called "You'll Never Walk Alone". It's been done by a lot of artists (including Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Barbra Streisand) so you'd have to find the version that suits you.
