How much do Djs typically cost!

Could someone please help me out! I'm starting to look around at djs and I got quoted a couple prices but they seem really high to me. But then again I have no idea what is high considering I never really booked a Dj for ne thing! Also, if any one has any suggestions in MA, north shore area it would be greatly appreciated!

The real question here is how experenced do you want your dj to be. In my opinion Lower cost djs are less experienced use lower cost equipment and may have poor emcee skills. Higher cost djs usually are usually more experienced with the complete package that a wedding day brings.
I am a N.E. based DJ and have done all the research. The avrage price of a good dj will be between 900.00 and 2000.00 depending on all of the options your looking for. I would be happy to speak with you about this if you would like. My company is Mikes Music Mix and my phone is 781-405-2210. I am a very neutral person and I have been involved in wedding planning for 17 years. I'm here for you with any questions you have with no obligation.

We're about a half hour south of Boston, and we're getting a well-reviewed DJ for our ceremony (if we don't get strings), cocktail hour, reception (5.5 hours total) and a photo montage for which he does all the work and provides the equiptment for $1000. He was the most reasonable that I found who had good reviews and came recommended from a friend. Most cost at least $200 more for what we wanted.

I went with thepros.com. They are pretty practical. For over 6 hours we were quoted around 1,200.00

    Hope this helps!

On the low low end around $500, but this going to someone who does this as a hobby and may not have much experience nor good equipment nor skills to coordinate a wedding reception, moving up the the more professional Djs $850 plus to $1400, but I am sure you will come across wider ranges than that...
