My father and I are using My Little Girl, but I know the "she thinks we're just fishing" song (Is it called Just Fishing? I can't remember the title right now.) is getting more popular right now. I say if you here a song and it makes you think of your dad, you should go for it.

My MIL picked out the song for the mother/son dance. She told me a few songs she was looking at, but I think it's going to end up being Mom by Lucero.

Now that I think about it, you should definitely consult the FOB and the MOG on the songs. Many parents have songs in mind for their children, and they'd probably love to give you their imput.

  • have FI and his mom pick their song--doesn't have to be country unless that works for them.

Talk to your dad, but some suggestions are:
    My Little Girl- Tim McGraw
    I Loved Her First-Heartland
    My Wish- Rascal Flatts
    Then They Do- Trace Adkins

I gave my dad some suggestions and ultimatley am letting him pick it out-he was very excited to get to make this decision.

as for bouquet toss or garter toss:
Country Girls (shake it for me)-Luke Bryan
Ladies Love Country Boys- Trace Adkins
    My Kinda Party- Jason Aldean
    Here for the party-Gretchen Wilson
    Redneck Woman-Gretchen Wilson

I could go on!  Google can be your friend in this situation since there are thousands of options,  Those are just the ones that came off the top of my head.

  • Stealing Cinderella or I Loved Her First both work for Father/daughter
Husband and I had our first dance to When You Say Nothing At All (there's a remix out there of Allison Krauss and Keith Whitley as a duet.)

  • Bouquet and garter toss might be too short for full songs, but if you do want them, Chicks Dig It by Chris Cagle and Here for the Party by Gretchen Wilson might work.  (assuming the girls trying to catch the bouquet aren't all your 8 year old cousins or something.)

As much as I love country, I do have to say be careful loading your entire reception with too much of it unless your guests are all fans.  Country can be kind of polarizing.  Even fans can have strong opinions about what is country and what is an offense to the name.
