I can't choose between 2 songs

I've narrowed it down to 2 songs for the father-daugter dance, and I just cannot decide which one.  I'm leaning more towards "I loved her first" by Heartland, but there are pros and cons to each song.

I loved her first is obviously country, and not a lot of people in mine and FI's families listen to country, let alone us, so it's kind of weird to me.  But, it's shorter than "I danced with Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman.  That song has the advantage of not being country, but it's almost a minute longer and seems a little cheesy to me, even though I like it.  My dad has no opinion on the matter....help!

It's funny that you pick these two songs...my sister used the Cinderella song for her wedding, and I was GOING to use I Loved Her First for my wedding.  However, I felt the same way, in that I didn't want a cheesy song and I didn't want one that didn't feel like "me".  So...  I ended up picking "Forever Young" by Bob Dylan.  It's beautiful, comes from the heart and is sure to describe everything you wish for your father and your father wishes for you!

I hope that helps...if not... I say Cinderella because you seem uncomfortable with a country song!
  • When I was picking out the music.  I did not at all think about if the songs were goingt o be liked by others-not in a rude way.  In my mind when I was thinking about song choices, it was totally based upon what song meant the most to me and that person.  My father/daughter dance will be to "My Girl" by the temptations.  My dad would always sing that when i was younger.  Do what you think will mean the most.  You only have this one day; don't pick YOUR songs to please others.
