B&M Monday

Mines not too bad, but I can barely lift my arms.  I started P90X this morning and the first day is an hour of chest and arms.  Um, yeah.  I could do maybe 10 regular good push-ups.  Today they were doing push-ups 6 different ways.  One-arm, clap, side-to-side.  Ha.  I guess I can only get stronger since this morning I sucked!

On the bright side, my parents we up this weekend and my mom and I got so much of the DIY stuff done/started.  Yea!

If the P90X creators thought putting Chest and Arms as DVD #1 would give people motivation... they definitely need to rethink... It was HARD!  I couldn't even brush my hair the next day and it's just craploads of push ups done different ways...

My only B&M is that it's Monday!  But it's still early... there could be more to come. :)

You aren't stepping on toes, don't worry!

Oy it's going to be one of those weeks, which has become every week lately with the boss.  We are met with silence when we say "Good morning boss, how's it going?" and she sends me these cryptic messages when I ask her a straight out question.  Great, a no win situation.  I'm sorry you choose to live a lifestyle  that takes your entire paycheck and now you are working a second job to help you financially.  But that is your choice.  You knew  the house was too much before you bought it but you did it anyways.  Stop taking it out on us, please.  We are *thisclose* to walking out as it is.

My B&M is that a did a Bootcamp this morning and my legs are killing me... I'm so out of shape... its going to be a really, really long day!

has anyone done the zumba fitness videos????? reviews please!!!
  • edited December 2011
OOPs, just found out I accidentally did the wrong video first.  Chest, shoulders and tri-ceps aren't until week 5.  I was supposed to do chest and back.  Well there you go. Off to a great start.  Oh well.

I've done the Zumba class at 24Hr Fitness.   It was fun but I was seriously the youngest girl there by quite a few years and I'm 31!  The older women were rocking it.  I'd do it again though.

I am really stessing about this move, no jobs, not knowing for sure where I am going to be living (we think we want to find a house somewhere either in or between east dallas and mesquite) which will then limit our job search because I dont want to deal with crazy traffic.  I am a HUGE planner and I like routine so this is all new and the idea of having to replan my wedding is really stressing me out/ making me sad.  Many things were included with my venue here that are not with the possible place I am looking at there so I either have to sacrifice my budget a little or sacrifice my idea of what I want for a wedding.  I specifically called around and found out what was realistic before I started planning and envisioning so I didnt have an unrealistic idea for my budget and now that is all changing.  I know that in the end it will all be for the better with then entire move and wedding and I will be beyond happy but right now it is tough.

On a positive note this board has helped me with tons of potential vendors and other information about the city, seriously you ladies are awesome!

I am having a visitor.  Yuck.  I'm also doing blood work today for my CT scan on Thursday, which is all leading up to the next visit with the gastroenterologist next week.  Hopefully things are still looking good and I don't get yelled at by the doctor.

I'm a pretty happy camper this week.    My only B&M's:

People who still havent RSVP'd (I'm talking people like my half brother and half sister, not random friends here....argh.)

I'm also pretty sure I put half of my 4.5 pounds back on this weekend.  Bachelorette Party was awesome but I'm paying for it now.

My only B&M is that it is Monday....still have the rest of the week to work and train. On a good note my bridals are on Thursday!!! Only the hottest day we have had so far in Dallas, lol! I'm planning on bringing lots of those hand-held fans.

Tiffany - where did you go for your bachlorette party??

Ladies on P90X - good luck with everything! I know it's tough but it will get easier...just remember to breathe and only do what you can or you really won't be able to move the next day. I can't tell you how many times FI had to help me out of bed because my abs and legs wouldn't work! Muscles have a way of paying you back for the work you make them do!

Microsoft Outlook is sooo slow today.  David and I email each other throughout the day, and everything he sends me is coming to my inbox 30 minutes after he sent it.

I've seen some of the Zumba DVDs and I don't think it's for me.  I would feel like a big idiot doing some of those moves.  But I'm not also not very good at picking things up quickly and the videos seemed to move quickly.

I really want to try P90X but I think I'm too much of a wimp from what I've heard about it.  Plus I really don't want to spend the money when I already have a gym membership.

I don't like Zumba.  To me it's not a workout.  Plus I look ridiculous doing it.

My B&M is I am tired of living so far from work.  I have been doing a 40 minute commute each way for over 20 years now.  I realized today when I don't want to go to work, it's mainly the drive I am dreading, not my job itself.  I am just so sick of it.

Yes, Pete's was fun!  There were several Bachelorette Parties there (at least 5).. it was crazy!

I don't like Zumba.  Not a 'real' workout in my opinion... I'm sure it can vary vastly from instructor to instructor though.

    Apple!! I've missed you so!

According to my bodybugg, I actually burn almost as many calories in Zumba as I do in Turbo Kickboxing, even though it feels a lot easier. But, TKB makes me more sore, so I think that's good. Also, it really does depend on the instructor. I loved my Zumba instructor in Nashville, I would have taken any class from her.

My B&M is that I fell off the diet wagon this weekend. Oh well.

Stephie - I hear you on the commute (and I've only been commuting for a few years now, so I have no right to complain in comparison).  I read in the NY Times a few weeks ago that commuting is the top source of unhappiness among Americans.  That did not surprise me at all - I am so much happier on the days that I telework.  I feel bad since Jordan recently told me "Yeah... um... you're kinda grumpy between 5 and 7."  It's totally true :(
