Yay or nay to this as our first dance song...

My FI and I are trying to decide if we will choose Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" as our first dance song. It has special significance to us, and we both like the idea of dancing to it, but I know it isn't one of those traditional first dance songs. From a guest's perspective would it seem wierd to choose that song? Only a few of guests know the story behind why that song is special to us.

I don't think it's weird, I think it's refreshing.  Consider having the DJ invite people to join you at some point in the song, that would really help get the party going!

I would say nay. I used to like that song now it reminds me of laguna beach and every crappy cover band has a version of it.

The song shoudl be something you want - so I say go for it.

Our first dance song is something that no one has heard of but it means something to use and that is why we picked it.

I love that idea! Lol, I'm kind of terrified of dancing in front of everyone for a long time anyway.

I totally hate the crappy covers of this song! If we are doing this, we are using the original Journey version - no negotiation on that one.
