no father/daughter dance

my father is not in my life a nd will not be invited to my wedding. I mknow its tradition to have a father daughter dance but since I have no father I was thinking of a mother/daughter dance. Is that a bad idea?

I am doing a Mother/Daughter dance! I decided on the song "I'll be" by Reba McEntire. You should check out the Youtube video.

I don't think it is a bad idea at all. I think it is very sweet!

I'm in the same situation... do you have a brother? You could of do the dance with him, but the daughter/mom dance is a good idea!

    I might do the same.

I do not have a brother. My mom raised me all on her own and we are best friends which is why I thought it be more appropriate to dance with her.
