Wedding Ceremony & Reception Music Discussions

What was/is your exit song?

We have every song we want to play during the ceremony nailed down...except the exit song!

We want something more upbeat but still romantic, ya know? What did you play (or what are you going to play)? I was thinking "l-o-v-e" by nat king cole but FI thinks it isn't upbeat enough.

suggestions please? :)

We are having 'Life is good' by Kenny Chesney.

What song are you using for your Bridal Party to walk down to?

Goodnight sweetheart (retro 50s song).   ETA  Oops...that was to exit the reception.

For our recessional, we used Rainbow Connection played by a solo guitarist.  Our processional was Storybook Love played by the same guitarist.

During the whole processional "Grow Old With Me" sung by Mary Chapin Carpenter will be playing :)

I'm also looking up recommendations.  We're young and modern so right now the one we're thinking of is "I Think I Wanna Marry You" by Bruno Mars

We had a church wedding and we were not permitted to use secular music. We used Allegro Maestoso by Handel.

We're doing "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz, performed by our string quartet

We're using the Air Force song, maybe the Army song (he's AF, I'm Army) but that probably wouldn't work for you. Hmm, upbeat and romantic? Maybe Lucky by Jason Mraz/Colbie Callait, "I've Got the World on a String" by Frank Sinatra, my sister recessed to James Brown's "I Feel Good"

That's all I can think of for you. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I love hearing what you're using. We decided on "How Sweet it is To Be Loved By You" :)

If you like big band jazz...we're using Tank by The Seatbelts. It's super upbeat, all instrumental.

    <div>I love this!!! </div><div>
</div><div>We are thinking of using "This will be (an everlasting love)" by Natalie Cole. We'll also throw another song in there, maybe like "You've got the best of my love" by the Emotions, just to make sure music is playing the whole time people are leaving the church. (We have gotten the go ahead on secular music from the pastor. Yay!) </div>

We're using a piano version of "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" by Death Cab for Cutie - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zekdq55R74&feature=related. It's the only song FI wanted, but I didnt feel the lyrics were 100% appropriate, so it's our compromise.
